Who we are and how we work

The MIH Centre is an innovation consultancy, founded in 2002, and is owned and run by FMCG Innovation expert Tim Nicol.

Tim successfully launched and managed many top consumer brands and products during his 18 year career with the Mars group. He managed the innovation strategy, NPD, and brand development process across an international multi-site division serving 25 markets across Europe and the Middle East. Since moving into marketing services he has advised leading multi-national FMCG clients on innovation and brand development.

Tim also works in the Third Sector, bringing marketing techniques to social enterprises- most notably as Village Champion for the village of Tideswell in the UK Peak District, as part of the BBC One and Big Lottery Fund programme, “Village SOS”.

MIH is an runs on an associate basis. We work with a team of around 20 specialist associates and 7 associate companies to deliver projects all over the world. We keep overheads low and flexibility high. Clients pay for our time, not our offices.

Our Global capability is unusual in a company this size. However, it is proven and effective. We have demonstrable experience of delivering brand innovation projects across Europe, USA and Asia (China, Thailand, and the Philippines)

We help clients innovate more effectively by running ideation sessions that work better than just brainstorming, and by screening ideas more objectively than the usual “boardroom beauty parade”.
